The Orioles lost the lead, but not the game.
I feel bad for Jeremy Guthrie, who just can’t seem to get a win, even when he doesn’t give up a run.
After losing a late 4-0 lead, the Orioles picked up the tiebreaking run on a Vladimir Guerrero RBI single to center in the last of the eighth to edge Boston 5-4 at Camden Yards.
Guthrie pitched six scoreless innings tonight, left with a 4-0 lead and still did not win. What else can the guy do?

Koji Uehara as closer talk could cool after he gave up a three-run homer to Kevin Youkilis in the eighth tonight that tied the game 4-4. Youkilis drilled the 2-1 offering for his fifth homer of the season.
With the win, the Orioles have now won four of their last five versus Boston and are now 11-7 against the Sox over the last 18 games between the clubs.
Kevin Gregg pitched up his fourth save with another drama-free ninth where he retired three Sox in a row.
Vlad’s hit was big and might be his biggest so far in the orange and black. It was his 10th RBI.
Meanwhile, Guthrie gave the Orioles their seventh quality start over the last eight games. He and Zach Britton combined to allow one run over 12 innings in this series.
The Red Sox came to Baltimore winners of eight of their last nine, but with this victory, the Orioles will win their first series since the second series of the season.
Guthrie won’t get a win. But at least the Orioles did.
