Last night’s 6-5 win over the Rays at Tropicana Field moved the Orioles to within one game of the Wild Card. They’re tied with the Blue Jays, and the Guardians are a half-game behind them.

Being four below .500 has never looked so good.

The Orioles have a different leadoff hitter again tonight, with Tyler O’Neill doing it for the first time in his career. He’s playing in his 724th game.

Pete Alonso batted first last night for the first time, but he’s moved back to second tonight.

Jackson Holliday remains in the third spot, Coby Mayo is the designated hitter, Christian Franklin is in left field and Leody Taveras is in center.

Kyle Bradish is making his 24th start. He made back-to-back starts against the Rays in May and allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings in St. Petersburg and one run in six innings at Camden Yards.

Bradish has made nine career starts against the Rays and posted a 5.10 ERA in 47 2/3 innings. He’s allowed six runs in 22 1/3 innings in his four starts at Tropicana Field.

Yandy Díaz is 10-for-25 with two doubles, a triple and a home run against Bradish. Taylor Walls is 1-for-14.

Bradish allowed 1.35 home runs per nine innings in his first 14 starts but has lowered it to 0.34 over his last nine starts.

Mayo had a line-drive percentage of 18.7 percent before July but has raised it to 28 percent.

Left-hander Ian Seymour has made nine starts among 38 appearances. He’s struck out 106 in 90 1/3 innings.

Seymour has made three relief appearances against the Orioles this season and allowed two unearned runs in 4 1/3 innings. Colton Cowser is 2-for-6 with a home run against Seymour.

The Orioles snapped Tampa Bay’s nine-game winning streak. The Rays still own the best record in the majors at 74-47.

From STATS: The Rays (.266) and Orioles (.263) have the majors two highest batting averages against 95-plus mph fastballs this season.
