The Orioles today announced they have acquired outfielder CHRISTIAN FRANKLIN from the Washington Nationals in exchange for minor league right-handed pitcher JOE GLASSEY

Frankin, 26, hit .249/.375/.360 (87-for-350) with 17 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 57 runs, 39 RBI, 65 walks, and 17 steals in 93 games this season with Triple-A Rochester. He was acquired by Washington from the Chicago Cubs on July 30, 2025, along with infielder Ronny Cruz, in exchange for right-handed pitcher Michael Soroka. The Overland Park, Kan. native was originally selected by the Cubs in the fourth round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Arkansas. He has not yet reported.

Glassey, 25, went 3-0 with a 2.64 ERA (9 ER/30.2 IP) and four saves on 13 total runs, 26 hits (1 HR), eight walks, one wild pitch, and 53 strikeouts over 24 relief appearances between High-A Frederick and Double-A Chesapeake this season. The Park Ridge, Ill. native originally signed with the Orioles as a minor league free agent on July 23, 2024.
