The Orioles today announced that they have acquired outfielder Junior Lake from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for right-hander Tommy Hunter and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk. Additionally, the Orioles have recalled right-hander Mike Wright from Triple-A Norfolk.
Lake, 25, batted .315/.404/.472 (62-197) with seven home runs and 31 RBI in 58 games with Triple-A Iowa this season. Over 26 games in July with the Iowa Cubs this season, Lake hit .337 (31-92) with six home runs and 15 RBI. In 193…

Lake, 25, batted .315/.404/.472 (62-197) with seven home runs and 31 RBI in 58 games with Triple-A Iowa this season. Over 26 games in July with the Iowa Cubs this season, Lake hit .337 (31-92) with six home runs and 15 RBI. In 193 career major league games, Lake has hit .241/.283/.380 with 16 home runs and 46 RBI.
Hunter, 29, went 2-2 with a 3.63 ERA (44.2IP, 18ER) in 39 games with the Orioles this season.
Wright, 25, went 8-0 with a 2.41 ERA (71.0IP, 19ER) in 13 games (12 starts) with Triple-A Norfolk. He made his major league debut on May 17 vs. Los Angeles (AL), tossing 7.1 scoreless innings. In six career major league games, Wright has gone 2-3 with a 5.16 ERA (29.2IP, 17ER).
