Tyler O’Neill is out of the Orioles’ lineup tonight after being a late scratch yesterday due to illness.

“He’s feeling better,” said manager Craig Albernaz. “He’s going to go through the day pregame and see how he’s feeling. It’s been a sickness going on. I think we kind of touched on it in Pittsburgh a little bit. So yeah, hit him pretty good.”

Colton Cowser was out of the lineup the past two games but he’s in right field tonight while trying to heat up following a 4-for-22 start.

“Like the first homestand, I think we saw great at-bats from Cowser,” Albernaz said. “I thought his process was outstanding. Outside of maybe a couple at-bats. Did a great job working the pitcher, getting on base, doing the little things. Sac fly, great bunt, like all the little stuff. And I think he got caught with kind of chasing results a little bit, and now he kind of got outside of what he is, I wouldn’t say capable of, but he’s not giving himself the best chance to succeed.

“So the days that he’s been not starting, he’s been diving in with Brady (North) and Dustin (Lind), kind of getting his approach right and just refining some movement stuff. With some hitters, there’s always some little mechanical adjustments, but also sometimes you just need to give a hitter a little cue to keep his mind off what’s going on. So that’s the biggest thing with Cowser is just making sure that he’s getting back to his approach and what he needs to do.”

Leody Taveras is in center field, Coby Mayo is at third base and Jeremiah Jackson is at second.

Adley Rutschman produced his 10th career multi-double game last night and first since July 28, 2025 against Toronto. He’s behind the plate again, with Samuel Basallo serving as designated hitter.

The Orioles have drawn five or more walks in seven games, tied for the second most in baseball behind the Brewers’ eight.

Oriole leadoff hitters lead the majors with a .946 OPS, outpacing the Giants (.941) and Rays (.935).

Chris Bassitt is trying to bounce back from a couple of disappointing starts with the Orioles. He’s allowed 10 runs and 12 hits in 6 1/3 innings, with six walks, three strikeouts and three hit batters.

Bassitt has registered a 3.91 ERA in eight career starts against the Giants. Rafael Devers is 10-for-20 with three doubles and three home runs. Willy Adames is 0-for-11 with five strikeouts.

Logan Webb has made three starts for the Giants and posted a 5.00 ERA in 18 innings. He held the Mets to one run in seven innings in his last appearance.

Webb has faced the Orioles twice in his career and allowed six runs in 12 innings. Pete Alonso is 2-for-17 with a home run and six strikeouts.

Webb is the 14th consecutive right-hander to start against the Orioles, tying the team record to begin a season. Tigers left-hander Mickey Lolich broke the streak in 1975.
