Shane Baz makes his first exhibition start this afternoon when the Orioles travel to Bradenton to play the Pirates.

The shortest trip on the docket is at hand.

Baz recently threw a multi-ups live batting practice session.

Also available to pitch today are Brandon Young, Levi Wells and Grant Wolfram.

Dylan Beavers is leading off and playing right field. Colton Cowser returns to the lineup and is in center field.

Bryan Ramos makes the start at third base, Thairo Estrada is the designated hitter and Enrique Bradfield Jr. is in left field.

Catcher Samuel Basallo, who left yesterday’s game with soreness in his right abdomen, told the assembled media this morning that he’s fine and likened the pain to cramping. Basallo had his gear on this morning to participate in workouts and said he could return to the lineup this weekend.

The club appears to have dodged a major injury bullet.

The Pirates are starting Mitch Keller, who has made two career starts against the Orioles in the regular season and allowed one run in 13 innings.
