SARASOTA, Fla. – Alfredo Simon threw two scoreless innings today against the Rays in Port Charlotte. He allowed a double to Ben Zobrist and struck out two.
Brad Bergesen will replace Simon for the third inning.
Nolan Reimold is batting leadoff tonight against the Pirates. Should we read anything into it?

Manager Buck Showalter told reporters in Port Charlotte that Tommy Hunter will throw two innings tomorrow in a simulated game in Sarasota. Zach Britton and Jim Johnson are each scheduled to throw one inning.
Also, Tsuyoshi Wada threw off a half mound this morning. According to Japanese reporters, Wada said his left elbow felt good. I’m taking their word for it.
