SARASOTA – Taylor Ward is leading off and playing left field this afternoon against the Pirates, followed by Adley Rutschman, Pete Alonso, Ryan Mountcastle and Heston Kjerstad.
Blaze Alexander is at third base, Weston Wilson at second and José Barrero at shortstop.
Coby Mayo and his .500 average and 1.195 OPS aren’t in today’s lineup after he played in Jupiter and West Palm, going 4-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs yesterday.
Kyle Bradish has made two starts and allowed four and seven hits with seven strikeouts in five innings. Chris Bassitt also is pitching today.
The Orioles are having live batting practice today on the back fields, with pitchers including Tyler Wells, Albert Suárez, Keegan Akin, Grant Wolfram and Hans Crouse.
Outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr. has returned to camp after playing for Team Panama in the World Baseball Classic. Dean Kremer, who pitched for Team Israel, also is expected back today.
