SARASOTA – Dylan Beavers gets another start in center field this afternoon, when the Orioles host the Tampa Bay Rays.
Gunnar Henderson is leading off. Pete Alonso is at first base and Ryan Mountcastle is the designated hitter.
Adley Rutschman is catching. Tyler O’Neill is in right field. Blaze Alexander is the second baseman and Weston Wilson is at third.
Left-hander Trevor Rogers is making his second spring start. He was given the ball for the opener, as predicted by yours truly in our annual beat writers challenge, and he retired six of seven batters in two scoreless innings.
Rogers struck out the side in the second. He threw 32 pitches, 23 for strikes.
