ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Coby Mayo is out of the Orioles’ lineup again tonight for the third consecutive game.

Austin Slater is in right field. Jackson Holliday moves down to eighth in the order.

Anthony Santander is the designated hitter. Colton Cowser, who had some wrist soreness last night, remains in left field and atop the order.

Corbin Burnes has made 23 starts and gone 12-4 with a 2.63 ERA and 1.058 WHIP in 143 2/3 innings. He has 18 quality starts but allowed a season-high five runs (four earned) in five innings in his most recent outing in Cleveland.

Burnes made his first career start against the Rays on June 10 at Tropicana Field and allowed two unearned runs in seven innings.

Dylan Carlson, who homered off Yennier Cano in the ninth inning last night, is 2-for 15 with a homer and six strikeouts against Burnes.

The Orioles are 7-1 against the Rays this season and 5-0 at Tropicana Field.

Drew Rasmussen is the opener for the Rays in his second appearance this season. He retired all six Cardinals batters he faced, striking out three, on Wednesday.

Rasmussen is 2-0 with a 2.13 ERA and 0.829 WHIP in six career games (four starts) against the Orioles. He tossed eight perfect innings against them on Aug. 14, 2022 at Tropicana Field before Jorge Mateo’s leadoff double in the ninth. Mateo scored on a wild pitch.

Rasmussen hadn’t pitched since May 2023 after undergoing his third major elbow surgery in seven years.
