Notes: Nick Markakis will take batting practice again today and hopes to play in a game within the next few days.
Markakis said everything is “smooth.” It’s just a day-to-day progression.
“Hopefully, it’s a couple more days and I’ll get in a game soon,” he said.
Chris Tillman was encouraged after his 62-pitch outing yesterday at Twin Lakes Park. He continues to believe that he’ll build up enough innings to be ready for the opener.
“I feel like I’m ready to go,” he said.
Tillman will pitch again on Friday against the State College of Florida.
Outfielder Trayvon Robinson is listed among the reserves for today’s game after straining his lower back yesterday in Bradenton.
