The Orioles are three games back for the last Wild Card with four teams ahead of them. The Blue Jays are only a half-game behind them.

They’re 1-3 on the 10-game road trip and will try tonight to even their series against the Twins.

Gunnar Henderson stays in the leadoff spot. Jackson Holliday continues to bat third.

Holliday is 6-for-12 with two doubles and a home run in his last three games after beginning the month 0-for-18. He’s slashing .324/.405/.426 (22-for-68) in 22 games since the break.

Christian Franklin is playing center field, with Jeremiah Jackson in left and Tyler O’Neill in right.

Christian Encarnacion-Strand is at third base. He’s 2-for-21 this month. Coby Mayo is the designated hitter.

Brandon Young has allowed seven runs and 11 hits in 10 innings in his last two starts to raise his ERA from 3.13 to 3.43. He’s never faced the Twins.

Minnesota right-hander Bailey Ober has a 4.45 ERA in 17 starts. He’s averaging only 6.1 strikeouts per nine innings, the lowest in his six seasons.

Ober tossed a two-hit shutout on May 12 against the Marlins. His first start in 2026 came against the Orioles, when he allowed three runs in four innings. Tyler O’Neill hit a three-run homer.

He’s made six career starts against the Orioles and posted a 3.13 ERA in 31 2/3 innings. Henderson is 2-for-15 with a home run. Leody Taveras is 1-for-10.

Pete Alonso is 2-for-4 with a home run.

Ober has recorded back-to-back quality starts with five earned runs in 12 innings.  

The Twins own the second-best average in the majors with runners in scoring position at .277, trailing on the Rays (.278). They were 25th last season at .238.

The Orioles 8-for-23 with runners in scoring position over their last two games after going 3-for-25 from Aug. 1-8.
