Smith is 10-for-30 against left-handers this season.
Left-hander Manny Bañuelos is making his second start of the season, and second since 2015 with the Braves, and both have come against the Orioles. He shut them out on five hits over four innings on April 22 at Camden Yards.
Rio Ruiz is 2-for-2 against him, dismissing the lefty versus lefty disadvantage in a miniscule sample size. Ruiz is starting at third base tonight.
