CHICAGO – The Orioles’ rotation came through with another quality start, Darren O’Day made another clutch appearance, Zach Britton picked up his 27th save and the Orioles swept the White Sox in Chicago for the first time since July 6-9, 1995.

The Orioles moved 21 games above .500 at 73-52. They lead the Blue Jays by nine games and the Yankees by 9 1/2 in the American League East.
The Orioles improved to 25-18 in one-run games and 39-26 on the road.

Wei-Yin Chen earned his career-high 13th win in the same series that Bud Norris won his career-high 11th. Chen has completed seven innings in four of his last five starts.
Chen went 7 1/3 innings tonight and allowed three runs and six hits, walking one and striking out seven. The left-hander threw 86 pitches, 65 for strikes.
Chen exited with one out in the eighth after consecutive singles by Alexei Ramirez and Alejandro De Aza. O’Day replaced him and struck out Jose Abreu and Avisail Garcia.
O’Day has allowed one earned run in his last 24 appearances over 27 innings. He’s walked eight and struck out 33.
O’Day has recorded nine straight scoreless outings and his ERA is down to 0.95.
Britton now has 27 saves in 30 opportunities. He retired the White Sox in order in the ninth.
The Orioles’ pitching staff has registered a 2.87 ERA since June 30, while the Orioles have gone 31-13.
