The Orioles today announced that they have claimed right-hander David Hale off waivers from the Colorado Rockies. Hale has been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.
Hale, 28, pitched in two games for the Rockies this season and also made two starts for Triple-A Albuquerque, posting a 1.50 ERA (1 ER/6.0 IP) with the Isotopes. In 66 career major league appearances (20 starts), he has gone 10-10 with a 4.48 ERA (89 ER/178.2 IP). Originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of the 2009…

In 66 career major league appearances (20 starts), he has gone 10-10 with a 4.48 ERA (89 ER/178.2 IP). Originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft out of Princeton University, Hale has gone 25-33 with a 3.93 ERA (231 ER/529.1 IP) over 126 career minor league games (82 starts).
With this move, the Orioles 40-man roster is now full.
