The Orioles today announced that they have claimed right-hander David Hale off waivers from the Colorado Rockies. Hale has been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.
Hale, 28, pitched in two games for the Rockies this season and also made two starts for Triple-A Albuquerque, posting a 1.50 ERA (1 ER/6.0 IP) with the Isotopes. In 66 career major league appearances (20 starts), he has gone 10-10 with a 4.48 ERA (89 ER/178.2 IP). Originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of the 2009…

Hale, 28, pitched in two games for the Rockies this season and also made two starts for Triple-A Albuquerque, posting a 1.50 ERA (1 ER/6.0 IP) with the Isotopes. In 66 career major league appearances (20 starts), he has gone 10-10 with a 4.48 ERA (89 ER/178.2 IP). Originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft out of Princeton University, Hale has gone 25-33 with a 3.93 ERA (231 ER/529.1 IP) over 126 career minor league games (82 starts).
With this move, the Orioles 40-man roster is now full.
