Here’s the Winter Meetings week schedule of “Orioles Classics”:

Monday, Dec. 5, 10:30 a.m. – The Orioles beat the Indians 3-1 in the 1996 American League Division Series, Baltimore’s first playoff series since winning the 1983 World Series. And much like today’s club, the Birds used the longball to open the series with a victory. Brady Anderson (leadoff in the first), B.J. Surhoff (twice) and Bobby Bonilla (grand slam) all went yard en route to a 10-4 win at Camden Yards.

Tuesday, Dec. 6, 11 a.m. – The Orioles were able to take a 2-0 series lead in Game 2, which started after a 37-minute rain delay in Baltimore. An Anderson solo shot, the team’s only homer of the game, kicked off a three-run fifth inning. And after the Indians’ three-run sixth inning, the Birds were able to put together a three-run eighth to secure the 7-4 win.

Wednesday, Dec. 7, 12:30 p.m. – As the series shifted to Cleveland, the Indians won their only game of the series. The Orioles grabbed a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth, but the Indians tied it up in the bottom half of the frame. An Albert Belle grand slam in the seventh gave the Tribe the lead for good on their way to a 9-4 win.

Thursday, Dec. 8, 11 a.m. – The Indians were then on their way to tying the series up in Game 4 and sending it to a decisive Game 5. But the Orioles tied the game with one out to go in the top of the ninth and sent it to extra innings. Finally in the 12th, Roberto Alomar launched the eventual series-clinching home run to send the Orioles to the ALCS.

Sunday, Dec. 11, 4 p.m. – In speaking of extra innings … On an April 25, 2015 game against the Red Sox, the O’s lost the lead in the ninth inning. And in a game where Jimmy Paredes was a triple shy of the cycle, Wei-Yin Chen went eight strong innings and the Red Sox took the lead in the 10th, Buck Showalter’s resilient club found a way to rally and eventually win on David Lough’s walk-off home run.
