The Orioles may be on the verge of another roster move before tonight’s series opener against the White Sox at Camden Yards.
Manager Buck Showalter said there was a “better than 50 percent chance” that the Orioles add another pitcher to their roster. They apparently have someone in place if they decide to again freshen up the bullpen.

“But don’t hold me to it,” Showalter said, adding that he alerted White Sox manager Rick Renteria.
“I think we’ll probably add a pitcher tonight. I’ve let Rick know the potential. Ethically, we should tell them, even if other clubs don’t do it for us.”
The Orioles could option Tyler Wilson, since he worked six innings last night. They still have Gabriel Ynoa, who was recalled yesterday and didn’t pitch.
Getting a pitcher here “isn’t a challenge right now,” Showalter said. “Not that far.”
The Orioles flew someone into Baltimore last night from Charlotte rather than have him make the bus trip to Norfolk and then hop on a plane.
“The bus broke down on the way back to Norfolk,” Showalter said, “so felt smarter.”
Seven pitchers who have been optioned aren’t eligible to return because 10 days haven’t expired since they were sent down. Reliever Stefan Crichton is eligible today after working 2 1/3 innings Wednesday in Charlotte.
Catcher Welington Castillo’s right shoulder continues to improve and the Orioles are hopeful that he’ll be ready after his 10 days expire.
Chris Tillman remains scheduled to make his debut Sunday at Camden Yards. He threw a bullpen session today.
