Catcher Jake Rogers will be in uniform tonight when the Orioles begin a three-game series against the Phillies at Camden Yards.

Rogers was acquired from the Tigers yesterday for Double-A pitcher Zane Barnhart. He’s reported to the team and is wearing No. 27.

To make room, the Orioles designated catcher Chadwick Tromp for assignment. Yohel Pozo stays as the second catcher.

Tromp is 3-for-24 with the Orioles. Pozo is 1-for-4 in two games.

Adley Rutschman and Samuel Basallo remain on the 10-day injured list with left wrist and right shoulder inflammation, respectively.

Sam Huff was designated for assignment Monday when the Orioles recalled Pozo. Huff was 4-for-33 with 19 strikeouts.

The Orioles have three games remaining before the trade deadline and they’re 2 ½ behind for the last Wild Card. Only three teams are ahead of them, with the Mariners sliding back.

They begin their next homestand with Brandon Young on the mound. He’s 8-2 with a 3.13 ERA in 17 starts, and the Orioles are 14-3 in his games.

Young has held opponents to one run in each of his last two starts totaling 13 1/3 innings. He’s registered three quality starts in a row.

Young hasn’t faced the Phillies in his brief career.

The Orioles are 14-19 in interleague games. Each of their last four has been decided by one run, tied for the longest streak in team history, per STATS. They also had four one-run interleague games in a row in 2001 and 2008.

The Phillies are 57-52 after losing three in a row, seven of eight and nine of 12. They’re 6 ½ games behind the first-place Braves.

They’re also 19-10 in one-run games, while the Orioles are 10-17.

The bullpen’s 4.39 ERA ranks 23rd in the majors.

Trea Turner is a career .347 hitter (50-for-144) against the Orioles. In his most recent game against them, he collected three hits and drove in Philadelphia’s only run in a 5-1 loss on Aug. 6.

Interim manager Don Mattingly will be happy to see former manager Buck Showalter, who’s in town for Chris Davis’ induction into the Orioles Hall of Fame.
