So much for a fresh start to the season.
Asdrubal Cabrera hit a solo home run with one out in the first inning, and Carlos Santana launched a two-run shot after Travis Hafner walked.
Eleven pitches, two home runs, and a 3-0 lead for the Indians.
Jeremy Guthrie threw 19 pitches in the inning, which included a diving stop along the line by first baseman Derrek Lee to rob Grady Sizemore of an extra-base hit.

I’m estimating that Guthrie can’t give up another run if he’s got any chance at a quality start.
Oriole starters have gone more than six innings only twice in the last 16 games.
The Orioles will try to rally against Indians starter Justin Masterson, who’s posted a 1.47 ERA in his last seven games since June 8. He’s allowed one earned run (two total) in his last 23 2/3 innings.
Update: The Indians scored again in the third, so Guthrie can forget the quality start. He did get a big 6-4-3 double play to end the inning after the Indians loaded the bases with one out.
Mark Hendrickson was warming in the bullpen as Orlando Cabrera grounded to shortstop J.J. Hardy, who started the double play.
Guthrie has allowed four runs and four hits, with two walks and a hit batter, in three innings. He’s thrown 54 pitches, 26 for strikes.
