The Orioles are playing the first of their back-to-back exhibition games against the Nationals today, unveiling the many changes to Camden Yards.
The press box has windows! But I digress …
Ryan Mountcastle is playing first base and Pete Alonso is the designated hitter. Adley Rutschman is catching Kyle Bradish, who’s expected to start the season’s second game on Saturday against the Twins.
Coby Mayo is at third base, Colton Cowser is in left field and Leody Taveras is in center.
Taveras is trying to make the club as a fifth outfielder. The roster isn’t ready for the same unveiling as the ballpark.
Blaze Alexander is at second base.
Manager Craig Albernaz should be able to provide updates on outfielders Dylan Beavers (knee) and Heston Kjerstad (hamstring), and reliever Keegan Akin (adductor). Kjerstad is undergoing an MRI today in Baltimore.
