Good thing Jake Arrieta is shutting out the Yankees.

Robert Andino’s infield hit scored Chris Davis in the sixth to increase the Orioles’ lead to 2-0. Endy Chavez lined into a double play – the third inning that’s ended with him at the plate.

Chavez appeared to become dizzy while batting and had to leave the game. He called time, stepped away, put a hand to his face and shook his head. He needed assistance walking off the field.

Here’s a statement from Tsuyoshi Wada that the Orioles just passed along:

“I am very disappointed. I will work hard for the rehab and try to recover to be as strong as I can to help the team win. I appreciate the support from the Orioles through this process.”

Update: Nick Markakis homered in the seventh inning for the first time since April 7. Adam Jones was hit on the right elbow by an Ivan Nova pitch, and he scored on Matt Wieters’ double off the right-center field fence.

Nova left the game. He’s won his last 15 decisions, but that streak is in jeopardy.

Former Oriole Clay Rapada replaced Nova and gave up Nick Johnson’s two-out RBI single.

Orioles 5, Yankees 0

Wieters, by the way, leads all catchers with seven homers. He just missed No. 8.

Eric Chavez left the game with a whiplash injury and possible concussion. He’s going to a nearby hospital for brain and spinal scans.

The injury happened in the fifth inning when he dived for J.J. Hardy’s ball that went for a leadoff double.
