The Orioles released the names of their 17 non-roster invitees to spring training, a list that includes seven pitchers, three catchers, four infielders and three outfielders.
There are no real surprises in the group except that infielder Joey Terdoslavich didn’t receive an invitation after being designated for assignment and outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk.
Keep in mind that everyone on the 40-man roster also will report to the Ed Smith Stadium complex. They don’t need invitations.

Also be aware that the final camp roster isn’t set. More players may be added as the Orioles continue their attempts to add a pitcher and perhaps a left-handed hitting outfielder. They also could bring in another reliever.
Manager Buck Showalter prefers to keep the total under 60, allowing each player to have a locker in the main clubhouse. It’s also easier to provide the pitchers with the necessary work.
The group of pitchers includes left-handers Jeff Beliveau, Cesar Cabral, Andy Oliver and Ashur Tolliver. They’re joined by right-handers Pedro Beato, Hunter Harvey and Todd Redmond.
The Orioles will have six catchers in camp, including invites Jonah Heim, Audry Perez and Chance Sisco. They’ll join Matt Wieters, Caleb Joseph and Fernando Pena.
Infielders Paul Janish, Trey Mancini, Ozzie Martinez and Steve Tolleson were invited to camp, along with outfielders Xavier Avery, L.J. Hoes and Alfredo Marte.
Pitchers and catchers report to camp on Feb. 18 and position players report on Feb. 23, with the first full-squad workout being held the following day.
Besides manager Buck Showalter and his coaches, the spring training staff includes Brady Anderson, Mike Bordick, Scott McGregor, B.J. Surhoff, Ramon Martinez, Brian Graham, Gary Kendall, Dave Anderson, Jeff Manto, Jose Hernandez, Jett Ruiz, Scott Beerer, Alan Mills, Sean Berry, Ron Johnson, Rick Peterson, Howie Clark, Miguel Jabalera, Don Werner and Mike Griffin.
New pitcher Odrisamer Despaigne will wear No. 43.
