The Orioles today announced a series of Orioles license plate online auctions through www.orioles.com/plates in honor of the club’s 60th anniversary. Fans will have the opportunity to commemorate a birthday, anniversary, or their favorite Orioles season with these plates, which feature the popular cartoon bird logo.

The Orioles today announced a series of Orioles license plate online auctions through www.orioles.com/plates in honor of the club’s 60th anniversary. Fans will have the opportunity to commemorate a birthday, anniversary, or their favorite Orioles season with these plates, which feature the popular cartoon bird logo.

Beginning today until April 30, Maryland residents can visit www.orioles.com/plates to bid on license plate numbers 1966, 1970 and 1983, the club’s World Championship seasons. These auctions will end starting at 10:00 p.m. that night.

Then, beginning May 5, remaining plates numbered 1955-2014 will be auctioned off by decade for one week at a time:

Proceeds from the auctions will benefit the Orioles Charitable Foundation, which has already benefitted more than $66,000 since the debut of the club’s license plate program in 2012. That year, the Orioles, in conjunction with the Maryland MVA, created Orioles-themed, State of Maryland license plates that feature the cartoon bird along with a 4-digit number.
