I never heard back from owner Peter Angelos – so much for MASN favoritism – but he’s disputing the FoxSports.com report to ESPN’s Buster Olney and The Sun’s Jeff Zrebiec.

Cal Ripken is traveling and hasn’t been available for comment. I also placed a call to president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail.

Angelos told Olney: “Quite simply, Cal Ripken did not offer to become part of the Oriole organization in any secondary position, such as manager or as an assistant to [team president] Andy MacPhail, or in some kind of support role of MacPhail. If he wants to make such a proposal, I’d like to hear about it.”
