Left-hander Wei-Yin Chen, on the disabled list with a strained oblique, threw another bullpen session today. That’s two sessions off a regular mound and one off a half-mound.
Manager Buck Showalter has Chen’s schedule mapped out. It may include a simulated game.
Showalter is hoping that Chen will return in time to make a few starts before the All-Star break.
The Orioles Gulf Coast League (GCL) team will play its first home game of the 2013 season at the Ed Smith Stadium complex on Saturday, June 22 at 10 a.m. vs. the GCL Rays.
The Orioles GCL home games, which run through August, are open to the public at no cost. Parking also is free and located in the east lot. Game times and location are subject to change without notice. A link to the season schedule is available online at www.orioles.com/sarasota.
