Orioles lineup vs. Blue Jays in series finale

The Orioles will go for the four-game sweep this afternoon, in the final game before the trade deadline, with Adley Rutschman serving as designated hitter and cleanup hitter, and Dylan Carlson in right field.

Tyler O’Neill and Ramón Laureano are on the bench.

Dean Kremer allowed five runs in six innings against the Rockies in his last start after surrendering one run over 14 innings in his two previous outings. His first start came in Toronto on March 29 and he allowed five runs in 5 2/3 innings.

Kremer owns a 5.14 ERA and 1.516 WHIP in 12 career games (11 starts) against the Blue Jays. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 11-for-31 with two doubles and five home runs.

The Orioles have won five games in a row and six out of seven, but they remain seven back for the last Wild Card with seven teams ahead of them.

Blue Jays right-hander José Berríos has a 3.83 ERA in 22 starts. He’s registered 13 quality starts.

Berríos has started twice against the Orioles this season and allowed 10 runs in 10 innings. He’s 10-2 with a 3.48 ERA in 18 career starts against them. He’s 6-1 with a 2.96 ERA in 10 starts at Camden Yards.

Rutschman is 15-for-28 with two doubles and four homers against Berríos. Ryan O’Hearn, who could be playing his final game with the Orioles, is 12-for-37 with two doubles and two homers. Cedric Mullins, also a trade candidate, is 9-for-31 with three doubles and two homers. O’Neill is 5-for-12 with two homers.

Right-handers are slugging .600 against Berríos this month after slugging .389 in June.

The Blue Jays had the best record in baseball when they arrived at Camden Yards, but they’ve lost four in a row. They’re tied with the Tigers for best record in the American League at 63-46.
