Hanser Alberto, who’s been a presence at the top of the lineup in intrasquads, is lowered to sixth tonight. DJ Stewart is starting in left field and Stevie Wilkerson is in right.
Outfielders Anthony Santander and Dwight Smith Jr. are staying back in Baltimore for rounds of live batting practice.
Chris Davis is batting cleanup after sitting out last night’s intrasquad game. Rio Ruiz, with three home runs in the scrimmages, is batting second.
Thomas Eshelman has replaced John Means as tonight’s starter. Means is questionable for opening day due to arm fatigue.
Manager Brandon Hyde will provide an update later today in his Zoom conference call with the media.
Eshelman started the last exhibition game in Florida prior to the shutdown, allowing nine runs and nine hits against the Blue Jays in Dunedin.
Relievers Miguel Castro, Cody Carroll, Cole Sulser and Tanner Scott also will pitch tonight.
