Gausman is 0-2 with a 3.24 ERA in seven starts this season, with nine walks and 37 strikeouts in 41 2/3 innings. He’s registered four quality starts, but lasted only five innings in two of his last three outings.
Left-handers are batting .153 against him and right-handers are hitting .290.
Gausman is 2-1 with a 3.12 ERA in 10 career games against the Red Sox, including five starts. David Ortiz is 6-for-13 with three doubles and two home runs, Xander Bogaerts is 5-for-14 and Dustin Pedroia is 4-for-11.
Rodriguez dislocated his right knee in spring training. Traded to the Red Sox in 2014 for reliever Andrew Miller, Rodriguez went 10-6 with a 3.85 ERA in 21 starts as a rookie last season.
In his third major league start on June 9, Rodriguez shut out the Orioles on three hits over six innings at Camden Yards. He faced them again on June 25 in Boston and allowed six runs and seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.
Back in Baltimore on Sept. 14, Rodriguez allowed one run and five hits in 5 1/3 innings, walking three and striking out nine.
Add it up and Rodriguez is 0-2 with a 4.20 ERA in three starts against the Orioles.
Wieters is 2-for-5 with a home run against him. Davis is 1-for-8 with four strikeouts.
Caleb Joseph, placed on the disabled list today, is 2-for-2 with a double.
