BOSTON – Left-hander Bruce Zimmermann is on the mound today as the Orioles try to guarantee a series win at Fenway Park.
The Orioles have won two of the first three games. The series concludes Monday night.
Zimmermann has a 3.78 ERA and 1.217 WHIP in nine starts. He surrendered one home run in his first six, but has allowed seven in his last three games.
Adley Rutschman is the designated hitter after catching last night. He’s 5-for-28 (.179) with a triple in seven games.
Trey Mancini is in left field and Austin Hays is on the bench.
The infield brings back Ramón Urías at third base, Jorge Mateo at shortstop and Rougned Odor at second base.
Reliever Félix Bautista recorded his fifth consecutive scoreless appearance last night.
Left-hander Cionel Pérez hasn’t allowed a run in 18 of his 19 appearances this year, posting a 0.60 ERA in 15 innings.
The bullpen has allowed four earned runs in 16 1/3 innings in the series.
The Red Sox are starting Nick Pivetta, who has a 4.25 ERA and 1.151 WHIP in nine starts.
Pivetta has allowed only five runs in his last four starts covering 28 innings. The streak of impressive outings began after he faced the Orioles and allowed three runs and six hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Cedric Mullins is 7-for-18 (.389) with a double and home run against him. Ryan Mountcastle is 4-for-15 with a double and two home runs.
Mancini is 1-for-14 and Hays is 0-for-13.
