The Orioles today announced a new partnership with T. Rowe Price as the local title sponsor of the Baltimore Orioles RBI program for the 2019 season. The Orioles RBI season begins on Saturday, June 1.
The Orioles RBI program is a Baltimore City youth baseball and softball league designed to teach important life lessons through the games of baseball and softball, increase the self-esteem of children, and encourage kids to stay in school. The program is a Major League Baseball initiative administered and financially supported by the Orioles at a local level since 1989. The 2019 season will consist of 40 teams and 600 players, participating in a 12-game season, followed by divisional playoffs and All-Star Games.
Thanks to the T. Rowe Price title sponsorship, the Orioles are able to provide the following new opportunities and benefits to RBI players and coaches:
* Team Jerseys and Caps: Each Orioles RBI team will receive complimentary team jerseys and Orioles RBI-branded caps.
* College Workshop: With the help of local nonprofit CollegeBound Foundation, the Orioles and T. Rowe Price will help high school-aged Orioles RBI players and their parents with the tools they need to help prepare for college.
* Career Days at T. Rowe Price: Going beyond the ballfield, high school players may have the opportunity to learn more about professional career opportunities and workplace skills through tours, presentations, and workshops led by T. Rowe Price’s associates.
* Specialized Clinics with Former Oriole Players: Throughout the season, the Orioles will be offering smaller, specialized clinics with Orioles alumni to help fine-tune RBI players’ hitting and pitching skills.
* End-of-Season Banquet: In celebration of the season, players and coaches will be invited to Oriole Park for an end-of-season banquet where the division and player award winners will be recognized.
Additionally, T. Rowe Price will present the Orioles RBI Division Champion Awards and O’mazing Orioles RBI Player Awards at the end of the year. Modeled after the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association’s Heart & Hustle Award, the O’mazing Orioles RBI Player Award, presented by T. Rowe Price, was developed in 2017 to recognize an active Orioles RBI player who demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and softball, dedication to community service, and commitment to academics. The Orioles and T. Rowe Price will recognize the winners during an on-field, pregame ceremony during RBI Night at Oriole Park on Saturday, August 3.
