The Orioles today announced that they have reinstated left-hander Brian Matusz from the 15-day disabled list and placed right-hander Yovani Gallardo on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder bicep tendinitis.
Matusz, 29, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 3 (retroactive to March 25) with a left intercostal strain. He made five rehab appearances (one start) between Class A-Advanced Frederick and Double-A Bowie and recorded 16 strikeouts in 10.0 innings. In 68 career Major League games (38 starts), Matusz has gone 27-41 with a 4.76 ERA (275 ER/519.2 IP) and 459 strikeouts.
Gallardo, 30, went 1-1 with a 7.00 ERA (14 ER/18.0 IP) in four starts this season.
