NEW YORK – The Orioles have recalled right-hander Kevin Gausman and placed Steve Pearce on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain, retroactive to July 19.
Pearce said his oblique has been bothering him over the last two weeks. He will get an MRI Thursday in Baltimore and rejoin the team in Tampa Bay this weekend. He hopes to be ready after the 15 days, but has never had an oblique injury before.

Gausman is 1-1 with a 5.00 ERA in three starts over 11 appearances with Baltimore this season. He went 0-1 with a 1.29 ERA in three starts with Triple-A Norfolk this season. Gausman is 3-1 with a 2.28 ERA in nine career appearances (three starts) against the Yankees.
