The Orioles today announced that they have recalled right-hander Mike Wright from Triple-A Norfolk and placed right-hander Miguel Gonzalez on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to June 10) with a right groin strain.
Wright, 25, became the second Orioles starter in club history to begin his Major League career with two consecutive scoreless starts (also, Tom Phoebus, September 15-20, 1966) after tossing 14.1 scoreless innings over his first two outings, May 17-23. He has made four starts with…

Wright, 25, became the second Orioles starter in club history to begin his Major League career with two consecutive scoreless starts (also, Tom Phoebus, September 15-20, 1966) after tossing 14.1 scoreless innings over his first two outings, May 17-23. He has made four starts with the Orioles this season, going 2-1 with a 2.96 ERA (24.1IP, 8ER). In seven starts with Triple-A Norfolk this season, Wright went 4-0 with a 2.45 ERA (36.2IP, 10ER) and 36 strikeouts.
Gonzalez, 31, went 5-4 with a 3.33 ERA (73.0IP, 27ER) over 12 starts with the Orioles this season.
