masn-baseballs-orioles.jpgThe Orioles today announced that they have selected the contract of right-hander Julio DePaula from Double-A Bowie and optioned right-hander Kevin Gausman to Triple-A Norfolk.

DePaula, 31, has not allowed a run in three appearances with the Baysox (6.1IP, 3H, 3BB, 8K) after being signed by the Orioles organization on June 27 from the independent York Revolution. Originally signed by Minnesota as an amateur free agent on July 10, 1999, DePaula appeared in 16 major league games in 2007, posting an 8.55 ERA (20.0IP, 19ER) with the Twins. DePaula also pitched for Hanwha in the KBO in 2010 and 2011. He will wear #59.

Gausman, 23, is 3-2 with a 3.51 ERA (33.1IP, 13ER) in six starts for the Orioles this season.
