The Orioles have signed Chad Tracy to a minor league contract. The deal does not include an invitation to spring training.
Not that Chad Tracy.
This one is the son of former manager Jim Tracy. He spent the 2013 season at Triple-A Omaha and with the independent York Revolution.
Tracy, 28, plays first base and left field, and has caught in 56 games. He spent his first six professional seasons in the Rangers organization and has also played in the Rockies and Royals systems.

Tracy is a career .267/.338/.455 hitter in eight minor league seasons. He hit 26 homers and drove in 107 runs in 136 games with Double-A Frisco in 2009.
Last year, Tracy batted .289/.369/.488 with nine homers and 37 RBIs in 59 games with the Revolution, and .187/.297/.288 in 45 games at Omaha.
You can add Tracy to the list of Orioles signings this month that don’t include spring invites. They earlier reached agreements with right-hander Luis Vizcaino, infielder Brock Bond and utility player Scott Savastano.
The Chad Tracy who spent the past two season with the Nationals remains a free agent.
To avoid any confusion in the future, the Orioles signed Chad Samuel Tracy, a right-handed hitter, not Chad Austin Tracy, a left-handed hitter.
I’m not sure whether there’s another Chad Tracy in professional baseball. I haven’t been able to locate one.
