I’m sure it’s just coincidence, but the Orioles are 7-1 when Robert Andino plays third base and 9-3 when Ryan Adams plays second base.
Mark Reynolds is batting .413 (12-for-29) with a double, triple, three homers and eight RBIs during his seven-game hitting streak.
Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter was a late scratch with a bruised right knee, the result of a foul ball in Game 1. Nobody said so, but I’m assuming he’s day-to-day.

Jeter is 7-for-17 lifetime against Orioles left-hander Brian Matusz.
Matusz struck out two Yankees in the top of the first inning, including Robinson Cano on a high 92 mph fastball.
Matusz was 90-92 with his fastball. If you’re obsessed with velocity, it’s time to celebrate.
The Orioles took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on Nick Markakis’ one-out double, a wild pitch and Adam Jones’ sacrifice fly.
Jones has a team-leading 78 RBIs.
Update: The Orioles scored again in the second inning on Reynolds’ leadoff single, which extended his hitting streak to eight games, and Adams’ double into right-center field.
The Orioles announced that the Sept. 8 makeup game against the Yankees at Camden Yards will start at 1:05 p.m.
Update II: Curtis Granderson just hit a three-run homer off Matusz in the top of the third. Estimated distance: 418 feet.
Yankees 3, Orioles 2
Granderson has 37 home runs this season. Did you predict it back in March?
Update III: Jones’ second sacrifice fly of the night tied the game, 3-3, in the bottom of the third inning.
J.J. Hardy led off with a double, extending his hitting streak to 11 games. He’s 3-for-39 against the Yankees this season.
