The Orioles are having a busy day.
The club just announced that it traded minor league infielder Steve Lombardozzi, a graduate of Atholton High School, to the Pirates for cash considerations.
Earlier today, the Orioles sent minor league catcher Michael Ohlman to the Cardinals in another cash transaction.
Lombardozzi isn’t the player to be named in the Travis Snider trade. This is a separate transaction with the Pirates. The PTBNL will be announced in spring training.

Lombardozzi, 26, batted .288/.297/.329 with a double, triple and two RBIs in 20 games with the Orioles last season. He hit .270/.307/.311 with nine doubles, a triple and 30 RBIs in 78 games with Triple-A Norfolk.
The Orioles acquired Lombardozzi from the Tigers on March 24 for infielder Alex Gonzalez. They optioned him on May 1, recalled him on May 24 and optioned him again the following day.
Lombardozzi wasn’t included among the September call-ups, and the Orioles – unhappy with his defense – outrighted him during the Winter Meetings.
Executive vice president Dan Duquette confirmed again last night that he wants to sign another infielder to provide depth, preferably one with some major league experience. Lombardozzi clearly wasn’t in the Orioles’ plans.
