Making his third injury rehab start last night, Chris Tillman allowed five runs and eight hits with three walks and two strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings at Triple-A Norfolk. He threw 72 pitches, 42 for strikes. Durham catcher Nick Ciuffo hit a solo home run off him in the fourth.
Tillman has allowed 10 earned runs and 14 hits in nine innings combined with short-season Single-A Aberdeen, Single-A Delmarva and Norfolk. He’s walked six batters and struck out six.
Showalter was waiting to receive the report on last night’s start, but said, “It didn’t look very good statistically.”
