Chris Davis remains out of the Orioles lineup for tonight’s game against the Athletics at Camden Yards.
That’s two nights in a row.
Davis is hitless in 56 consecutive plate appearances, one short of Tony Bernazard’s major league record. He’s 0-for-28 with four walks and 15 strikeouts this season in 32 plate appearances.
As he did yesterday, Davis is on the field early hitting off a tee.

Trey Mancini is playing first base, with Dwight Smith Jr. in left field and Joey Rickard in right. Hanser Alberto is starting at second base and Jonathan Villar moves to shortstop.
Villar has a nine-game hitting streak that’s the second-longest active streak in the American League.
Dan Straily is making his first start since Sept. 7 in Pittsburgh. He’s replacing Alex Cobb, who’s on the injured list with back spasms.
Straily threw 44 pitches in relief Sunday in his Orioles debut. His only career start against the Athletics came on June 11, 2016 with the Reds, when he held them to one run in seven innings.
Kendrys Morales is 4-for-12 with a double and two home runs against Straily.
Right-hander Frankie Montas has allowed three runs and struck out 11 batters in 11 innings this season. He’s never faced the Orioles and the only player with an at-bat against him is Jesús Sucre, who’s 0-for-1.
Left-handers have hit .318/.403/.591 against Montas in his career.
The bullpen has allowed 44 runs, most in the majors. The Cubs are second with 35.
The Orioles have committed errors in back-to-back games for the first time this season.
The club announced earlier today that left-hander Josh Rogers was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk. He’s expected to back up Straily tonight.
