Manny Machado told manager Buck Showalter that he wants to play both ends of today’s doubleheader at Camden Yards. He also wants to play all 162 games.

Double-A Bowie pitching prospect Branden Kline is expected to undergo ligament-reconstructive surgery on his right elbow. Dr. James Andrews will examine him, but the Orioles aren’t optimistic.
Three doubleheaders are being played today due to postponements last night in Baltimore, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. According to STATS, the last time there were at least three doubleheaders on one day was May 1, 2014. The last time the schedule featured at least 18 games was Sept. 13, 2009.
The Orioles will play their third doubleheader of the season. They split with the White Sox on May 28 and swept the Indians on June 28 at Camden Yards.
The Orioles are 8-3-3 in doubleheaders against the Blue Jays.
Miguel Gonzalez ranks 21st on the all-time strikeout list for Mexican-born pitchers with 414. He trails Vicente Romo by two strikeouts for 20th place.
