The Orioles have gone 10-3 against the Mariners at Camden Yards dating back to the start of the 2011 season. Seattle has dropped 18 of its last 26 in Baltimore, and is 39-69 (.361) since the ballpark opened in 1992.

Can the Orioles build on their success? They took the opening game of the series last night 9-4 and are sending left-hander Wei-Yin Chen to the mound tonight.

Chen’s outing snaps a string of 10 consecutive starts by opposing right-handers versus the Mariners. Chen is just the second lefty to start against Seattle in the last 18 games. The Mariners are 3-5 vs. southpaws this season.

Nelson Cruz is now a career .350 hitter against the Orioles, going 57-for-163 with 12 doubles, a triple, seven home runs and 37 RBIs in 41 games. He’s reached base safely in 38 of 41 games.

Robinson Cano is a career .363 hitter (119-for-328) with 27 doubles, 15 home runs and 44 RBIs in 80 career games at Camden Yards. The average and .995 OPS are the highest for Cano at any venue in which he’s played a minimum of 20 games. The 15 home runs are his second-most as a visiting player, trailing only the 17 he’s hit at Tropicana Field.
