The Orioles lead the majors with a 1.80 ERA, allowing nine earned runs in 45 innings. The rotation ranks second with a 2.28 ERA, but the starters have worked only 23 2/3 innings in five games.

A win today would allow the Orioles to set the club record for best start at 6-0. The best record in franchise history is 9-0 by the 1944 St. Louis Browns.

Fourteen teams have started a season 5-0 in the last 21 years since the postseason expanded beyond four teams. Eight of those teams made the playoffs and four advanced to the World Series – the Royals in 2015, Rangers in 2011, Tigers in 2006 and Giants in 2002.
