The Orioles are going for their first three-game sweep of the Angels at Camden Yards since Aug. 3-5, 2010. They’re 9-3 against the Angels since the beginning of 2013.
The Orioles acquired tonight’s starter, Bud Norris, one year ago today. In his 28 games (26 starts), Norris is 12-10 with a 4.23 ERA, 58 walks and 133 strikeouts in 153 1/3 innings.
Norris is 4-0 with a 0.52 ERA in five career starts against the Angels. David Freese is 8-for-20 (.400) with two doubles against Norris. Josh Hamilton is 6-for-15 (.400) with a double and home run. Mike Trout is 5-for-16 (.313) with three doubles.
Albert Pujols is 7-for-39 (.179) and Howie Kendrick is 2-for-14 (.143).
The Orioles have improved to 15-13 against left-handed starters, and they’re facing Tyler Skaggs tonight.
Nelson Cruz and Nick Hundley are a combined 0-for-5 against Skaggs, who’s never faced the Orioles.
The Orioles lead the majors with a 19-10 (.655) record against the American League West this season and have won six straight home games versus the division since June 30.
The Orioles own the best winning percentage in the majors when scoring first (.820, 41-9).
