The Orioles enter tonight’s game tied with the Yankees for third in the majors with 194 home runs. They trail the Blue Jays (202) and Astros (197).
Reliever Brian Matusz has been named the Orioles’ 2015 nominee for the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award.
Before Wednesday night’s 7:05 p.m. game, the Orioles will observe the annual Roberto Clemente Day and present Matusz with the award during an on-field ceremony.
Matusz earned the Orioles 2015 nomination for his work with many charities in and around the Baltimore community, including Casey Cares, the Cool Kids Campaign, Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter and the OriolesREACH Gameday Experience Program. Matusz served as this year’s honorary race ambassador for the Casey Cares 5K Run/Walk at Camden Yards benefiting critically-ill children and their families.
As part of the ceremony in honor of Roberto Clemente, Matusz will present the Casey Cares Foundation with a $7,500 donation from Chevrolet.
