Also according to Elias, the Orioles hadn’t hit three game-tying or go-ahead home runs in the sixth inning or later in one game…

The Orioles are 24-3 when Jonathan Schoop hits a home run in his career.

Adam Jones is batting .333 /.359/.889 (12-for-36) with six home runs and 11 RBIs in his last nine games. Manny Machado is batting .338/.380/.527 with five doubles, three home runs, eight RBIs and 10 runs scored in August.

Left-hander Brian Matusz has allowed three earned runs in his last 21 1/3 innings over 23 appearances. He’s struck out 34 batters.

Steve Pearce went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in his first game on his injury rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast League Orioles. Shortstop Ryan Mountcastle, the Orioles’ 18-year-old supplemental pick in this year’s draft, hit his third home run and is batting .313.
