Serving as the designated hitter today, Walker went 1-for-2 with a walk after the Orioles recalled him as the roster replacement for starter Kevin Gausman. They needed another opening for Thursday when outfielder Nolan Reimold returns from paternity leave.
In seven career major league games, Walker is batting .200/.273/.400 (4-for-20) with a double, home run and an RBI.
Meanwhile, the starters haven’t been announced for the weekend series against the Nationals at Camden Yards. Neither manager has revealed the names.
Major League Baseball will announce the participants in Monday night’s Home Run Derby tonight at 6 p.m.
