Clevenger could be coming up as insurance at catcher while Matt Wieters recovers from a strained right hamstring suffered on Tuesday.

Urrutia is batting .292/.344/.414 with 21 doubles, a triple, 10 home runs and 50 RBIs in 107 games with Norfolk. He’s a career .276/.276/.310 hitter in 24 games with the Orioles.

urrutia-running-white-sidebar.jpgUrrutia’s last major league at-bat came on Sept. 10, 2013 against the Yankees. He underwent sports hernia surgery last summer.

Clevenger was on the opening day roster before the Orioles optioned him the following day to make room for Chris Davis, who had to serve one more game of his suspension. Clevenger is batting .305/.375/.393 with 11 doubles, four home runs and 32 RBIs in 75 games at Norfolk.

Clevenger, a Baltimore native, went 5-for-11 in four games with the Orioles this season.

At least three teams expressed interest in Clevenger before the non-waiver deadline, but the Orioles held onto him. He’s out of minor league options next year.

Chris Parmelee, playing in his second game yesterday since accepting his outright assignment to Norfolk, suffered a broken left forearm after being hit by a pitch in Durham. He’s wearing a cast today, and headed to the minor league disabled list.

Parmelee was 2-for-5 in two games with the Tides.

The Orioles designated Parmelee for assignment on July 31 after acquiring outfielder Gerardo Parra from the Brewers for minor league pitcher Zach Davies. Parmelee batted .216/.255/.433 with seven doubles, one triple, four home runs and nine RBIs in 32 games with the Orioles.
