The off-day Monday gave manager Buck Showalter the freedom to adjust the rotation.
Wilson is 2-2 with a 3.68 ERA in eight games, including five starts. He’ll be working on an extra day’s rest after allowing five runs in six innings Thursday against the Mariners at Camden Yards.
Wilson was working on seven days’ rest before facing Seattle. He had posted quality starts in back-to-back outings.
The Orioles lead the Astros 17-12 in the all-time series, going 12-3 at home and 5-9 on the road.
A leftover from last night: The Orioles will assign pitcher Franderlin Romero to Single-A Frederick after acquiring him from the Reds for two international bonus slots.
