When Jim Thome crushed a homer to center field in the 4th tonight to tie the game with the Orioles at 1-1, he moved past one former Oriole on the all-time homer list and set his sights on another.
Thome entered this game tied for 12th on the all-time homer list with 563 with Reggie Jackson. Now he has 564 and that is five behind Rafael Palmeiro, who at 569, is 11th on the all-time list.
I bet most fans would have guessed that Reggie had more homers than Raffy.

The homer was Thome’s 4th this year in 22 at bats vs. the Orioles and was his 29th career homer off O’s pitching, in 420 at bats.
