This is the second time in three starts that Patton has shut out an opponent on three hits over seven innings.
It’s been an uneven season for Patton. Back on May 22, he allowed eight runs and 13 hits in 4 1/3 innings in a game against Rochester. In Wednesday’s rematch, he surrendered five runs (four earned) and five hits in six innings. The other two starts have been gems.
Today’s outing lowered his ERA to 5.13.
Jeff Salazar and Rhyne Hughes have homered today, and catcher Adam Donachie is 3-for-3. Josh Bell is 2-for-4 with a double. Nolan Reimold isn’t in the lineup.
